PARK RULES & REGULATIONS

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, please follow these rules when using our city parks and facilities:

  • PARK HOURS: Our parks are open daily from sunrise to sunset, unless otherwise posted.
  • ALCOHOL & SMOKING: Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in all city facilities, parks, and on the beach.
  • BOUNCE HOUSES & INFLATABLES: Bounce houses, dunk tanks, and other similar inflatable equipment are not permitted in city parks.
  • CAMPING: Overnight camping is only allowed at Dutton Island Preserve in designated areas with a permit.
  • FILMING: Videoing and photography for hire require prior permission or a permit from the city.
  • FIRES: Fires are only allowed with a permit at Dutton Island Preserve and on the beach (November to February only). All fires must always be attended and fully extinguished before you leave.
  • MOTORIZED VEHICLES: Motorized vehicles, including golf carts and e-bikes, are not allowed on park trails, grassy areas, or in the parks themselves without approval. Motorized wheelchairs are permitted.
  • NOISE: Please be respectful of others. Loud or disruptive behavior is not permitted.
  • PERMITS: A permit is required for certain activities, including group events, commercial use, and organized sports leagues.
  • PETS: All pets must be on a leash and under control.  Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.  Pets may be off-leash in designated dog parks with proper registration and while swimming in the ocean.
  • PROTECTING PROPERTY: Please do not damage, alter, deface, or remove any park facilities, vegetation, or equipment. The erection of any structures is prohibited without written permission.
  • SALES & SOLICITATION: Selling goods or services or soliciting donations is prohibited without a Business Activities Registration from the Recreation Division.
  • SPLASH PAD: The Splash Pad at Donner Park is open from May to September, weather permitting.  For updates, visit www.coab.us/splashpad.
  • TRASH & RECYCLING: Use the provided trash containers and do not litter.
  • WILDLIFE: Do not feed the wildlife.
