COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING

The Local Goverment Comprehensive Plan, as mandated by Florida's Growth Management Act (Chapter 163, Part II, Florida Statutes) is to serve as a long-range guide for future growth and development.   Additionally, the State requires that Local Governments conduct periodic retrospective examination of Comprehensive Plan goals, objectives and policies in light of new legislation and social, economic and environmental factors, as well as any other issues of local importance.  Currently, Atlantic Beach growth and development is guided by the goals, objectives and policies set forth in the 2010-2020 Comprehensive Plan, adopted by Ordinance 31-10-09 on March 22, 2010.

The City's most recent Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) was adopted by Resolution 08-12 on October 13, 2008.  Archives of this, as well as other growth management documents can be found in Comp Plan Archives, accessible by selecting the link in the menu to the left, while the individual elements comprising the current 2020 Comp Plan are accessible by clicking the icons below.

All documents are provided in .pdf format and may be saved or printed from the Adobe Acrobat Reader; alternatively, printed and bound copies may be requested and purchased by contacting the department.
