The annual DONNA Marathon is Sunday, Feb. 9. Runners love our community because of all of our spirited supporters and curb crews who come out and cheer them on as they complete their journey to the finish line.
The marathon route will be the same as last year, with the entire half marathon (and first half of the full marathon) being run in Atlantic Beach. As a result, access in Atlantic Beach may be inhibited for up to seven hours beginning at 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Please take note of these traffic impacts in Atlantic Beach and call the race headquarters at (904) 355-PINK with any problems or concerns you may have:
• Access to Beaches Town Center may be inhibited from noon Friday, Feb. 7, to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
• Vehicles will be prohibited from parking on impacted streets after 11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. If your vehicle is towed, contact Beach Body Towing Co. at (904) 249-9974.
• Atlantic Boulevard, westbound from Third Street (A1A) to Royal Palms Drive, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9.
• Please ensure that all dogs are secured and not able to run off of your property into the race route.
• Public safety concerns in Atlantic Beach? Call (904) 247-5859.
The City looks forward to welcoming this year’s participants and encourages everyone to come out and support the fight to finish breast cancer. For more information, visit www.breastcancermarathon.com.
