The City owns and operates one wastewater treatment plant which serves the area within and outside the City limits, and can treat up to 3.5 million gallons per day.
Physical and biological treatment is used to remove regulated contaminants from the wastewater, which is then disinfected and dechlorinated. The treated effluent is then pumped to the St. Johns River.
If you have questions about wastewater treatment, contact the Public Utilities Department at (904) 247-5886.
