Shakespeare 2017

SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

The City of Atlantic Beach brings you the ninth annual Shakespeare in the Park FREE under the stars in Johansen Park (1300 Seminole Road Atlantic Beach) May 3-5, rain date May 6, 2018 (note new dates).  The show will begin at 8:00 pm each night.

Lay on the blankets, bring your chairs or use the ones provided to enjoy Shakespeare in a new perspective by bringing authentic productions of Shakespeare's timeless plays to audiences of all ages featuring working-class men, supernatural characters, and members of the Athenian court.  The play explores the relationship between the natural and supernatural, the conscious and the subconscious, the real and the unreal, mediated through the physical manifestation of jealous lovers, meddling fairies, and dedicated workingmen.  Mistaken identity, and romance make up the zany world of "Dream," one of Shakespeares' best-loved and most-performed plays.

For more information about performances in Atlantic Beach, contact Dr. Pam Monteleone at pmotele@unf.edu.

Balu's Surf Shack mobile kitchen will be ready to serve from 6-10 pm.
